- A discussion about aspects of planning J!Day DC ensued and many topics were covered.
- Bruce opened the floor to general discussion and questions.
- Gene Crawford asked about solutions for allowing his clients to manage groups of their clients and manage projects. Nobody knew of a Joomla! extension that does anything like this. A few other open source tools were recommended such as opengroupware.org and web2project.com.
- Robin Gross asked about slideshow extensions to replace Simple Picture Slideshow on her synagogue’s website. We talked about image orientation presizing versus browser resizing as well as choosing an extension that is smaller and loads quicker. Robin also was curious about how to edit and where to find code in the extensions she uses. Jen Kramer’s “Joomla! Start to Finish” was recommended reading for her.
- Akeeba Backup was discussed as a means of protecting work being done on a site or even moving an existing site to another server to work on off-line.
