Tonight we took a brief and not-too-in-depth view of a Joomla! 4 Alpha 6 installation on Bruce's hosting account. We mainly examined the new administrator (site back end) menu layout and discussed why it was done as it is. Dorothy flipped through some slides (attached) summarizing changes to both 3.9 and 4.0. Bruce prepared slides (also attached) and although these were not viewed, what they cover was discussed. Numerous issues were noted with this very early release, including template interaction issues, completely non-functioning email, and inability to install some extensions (Community Builder).
Afterwards, Dwayne gave us another glimpse of what he's been up to with Fabrik on one of his sites. Fabrik is a powerful component that creates, manages, and displays lists of information. Dwayne's example was for an order/inventory system.
